Abatron adds on-chip development support for Cavium Networks family of OCTEON™ and OCTEON Plus Processors
Rotkreuz, Switzerland — July 9, 2008 — Abatron, AG announced today that the company has added support for the OCTEON and OCTEON Plus family of Multi-core MIPS64® processors from Cavium Networks. The BDI2000 and BDI3000 probes and their associated applications for development now support multi-core development and control of these chips to perform low-level hardware development, Linux kernel development, as well as in-circuit flash programming.
“Due to strong customer demand, we released an enhanced version of our bdiGDB-MIPS64 firmware that will enable users to target as many as sixteen (16) cnMIPS64 cores found in devices such as the CN3860 and CN5860” says Max Vock, President of Abatron.
“With OCTEON’s success, multi-core application development has become mainstream amongst embedded developers,” said Amer Haider, Director of Strategic Marketing and Ecosystem Development. “We are happy to work with Abatron to support current and future OCTEON customers using Abatron BDI probes.”
The BDI probes are available in stock from Ultimate Solutions, a leading supplier of professional grade development tools supporting North and South America.
